Detail

Product Description

This product is used for charging/discharging three sets of lithium batteries in series, with each set capable of parallel connection of multiple lithium batteries. It can withstand continuous charging current of 20A, continuous discharging current of 40A, and instantaneous current below 80A. During use, the heat dissipation conditions should be good. If the heat dissipation conditions are not good, please reduce the current and do not let the board have a noticeable burning sensation. During the charging and discharging process, it has overcharge protection, overdischarge protection, overcurrent protection, and short circuit protection functions. This product can be used for battery charging and discharging of electric drills, spray, LED lights, low-power inverters and other products.

Product Use

详情-02

  • Strictly follow the wiring method shown in the diagram. The wires used should be good, and the contact should also be good, because even if the resistance is not too large, when a large current flows, it will cause a large voltage drop and generate a large amount of heat, which will affect the performance of the board.

  • Connect the load, and the lithium battery pack supplies power to the load through the board. With good heat dissipation, the board can withstand a continuous current of 40A. If the heat dissipation is very good, it can even reach 60A.

  • During the discharge process, when the voltage of a certain group of batteries drops to the over discharge voltage limit, the board will activate the over discharge protection and turn off the discharge. Note that the battery voltage detected during the discharge process of the board will be lower than the voltage value measured at both ends of the battery with a multimeter. This is due to the wires and the inside of the battery. Therefore, after turning on the over discharge protection, you can use a voltmeter to measure the voltage at both ends of the battery, which is often higher than 2.4V. Also, poor wiring between the "0V" terminal on the board and the negative terminal of the battery can result in a higher over discharge protection voltage than 2.4V.

  • When the battery voltage rises above 3V, the over discharge protection is released. If the over discharge protection is not released, the load can be disconnected and the over discharge protection will be released.

C. Overcurrent protection.

When the current is too high, the board activates overcurrent protection, disconnects the circuit connection, and stops charging or discharging.

Three usage scenarios

A. Charging (overcharge protection)

详情-03

  • Firstly, it is necessary to strictly follow the wiring method shown in the diagram. The wires used should be good, and the contact should also be good, because even if the resistance is not too large, when a large current flows, it will cause a large voltage drop and generate a large amount of heat, which will affect the performance of the board.

  • Connect the charging end of the board to a 13V power supply and start charging.

  • The board will detect the total voltage of three sets of batteries in series. When the voltage reaches 12.8V, the board will turn off the battery charging circuit, which is overcharge protection.

  • When the voltage of the battery pack drops below 12.3V, the overcharge protection contacts and the board will open the battery charging circuit again, which is the overcharge release.

  • If the board is turned on for overcurrent/short circuit protection during the charging process due to certain reasons, you need to remove the connection at the load end, then turn off the power and restart to cancel the overcurrent protection. You can also disconnect the load and wait a few seconds for the overcurrent protection to automatically cancel.

B. Discharge (over discharge protection)

Conditions for successfully starting the electric drill:

(1) The discharge current of the battery should be able to reach the minimum starting current of the drill;

(2) The connection between the battery pack and the protective board should be as short as possible, and the wire core should be as thick as possible;

(3) If other conditions are found, they will be supplemented separately.
