ADXL362 is an ultra-low power, 3-axis MEMS accelerometer that consumes less than 2 μ A at an output data rate of 100 Hz and 270 nA in motion triggered wake-up mode. Unlike accelerometers that use periodic sampling to achieve low power consumption, ADXL362 does not aliasing input signals through undersampling; It uses full data rate to sample the entire bandwidth of the sensor.
ADXL362 typically provides a 12 bit output resolution; When the lower resolution is sufficient, 8-bit data output is also provided to achieve more efficient single byte transmission. The measurement range is ± 2 g, ± 4 g, and ± 8 g, with a resolution of 1 mg/LSB within the ± 2 g range. Applications that require a noise level lower than the normal value of 550 μ g/√ Hz for ADXL362 can choose one of two low-noise modes (with typical values as low as 175 μ g/√ Hz), with minimal increase in power supply current.
In addition to ultra-low power consumption, ADXL362 also has many features to achieve true system level energy savings. The device includes a deep multi-mode output FIFO, a built-in low-power temperature sensor, and several motion detection modes, including adjustable threshold sleep and wake-up modes, in which the measurement speed is measured
When the frequency is around 6 Hz, the power consumption is as low as 270 nA. If necessary, a pin output can be provided to directly control the external switch when motion is detected. In addition, ADXL362 also supports external control of sampling time and/or system clock.
The ADXL362 can operate within a wide power supply voltage range of 1.6V to 3.5V and can interface with hosts that use independent low power supply voltage when necessary.
