Product Description
Product Description The MSA311 is an ultra-small, low-cost, three-axis accelerometer. It's cheap, but includes just about every "extras" you'd want in an accelerometer: Three-axis sensing, 14-bit resolution ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g selectable scaling I2C interface at fixed I2C address 0x62 Interrupt output Multiple data rate options 1Hz to 500Hz Down to 2uA current consumption in low-power mode (chip only, not including any support circuitry) Tap, double-click, orientation, and free-fall detection The MSA311 is very similar to the MSA301, but not a drop-in replacement. The I2C address has changed from 0x26 to 0x62! |
This sensor communicates via I2C or SPI (our library code supports both), so you can share it with many other sensors on the same I2C bus. There is an address select pin, so you can have two accelerometers share a single 12C bus. To get you started quickly, we've included a custom PCB in the STEMMA QT form factor to make it easy to interact with them. The STEMMA QT connectors on both sides are compatible with the SparkFun Qwiic I2C connector. This allows you to make solderless connections between your board and the MSA311, or link with a variety of other sensors and accessories using compatible cables. QT cables are not included, but we have a variety in our store. A little 0.1" standard header is included in case you want to use it with a breadboard or perfboard. Four mounting holes make for easy mounting. |
