Recently, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) released a report stating that global semiconductor industry sales in May 2023 were $40.7 billion (currently approximately RMB 294.261 billion), an increase of 1.7% compared to $40 billion in April 2023; But it is 21.1% lower than the $51.7 billion in May 2022.
This monthly sales data is provided and compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization, covering 99% of US semiconductor companies and nearly two-thirds of non US chip companies worldwide.
SIA President and CEO John Neuffer said, "Although the market continues to be sluggish compared to 2022, global semiconductor sales rose slightly for the third consecutive month in May, sparking optimism about a possible rebound in the market in the second half of the year.

China's month on month growth of 3.9%, year-on-year decrease of 29.5%
Asia Pacific/All Other Regions grew by 1.3% month on month and decreased by 23.0% year-on-year
Japan grew by 0.4% month on month and decreased by 5.5% year-on-year
Americas grew by 0.1% month on month and decreased by 22.6% year-on-year
Europe saw a year-on-year growth of 5.9%
